UEFA President Michel Platini says he is pleased with the progress made in building a stadium, airport and roads in the Polish city of Gdansk ahead of next year's European Championship.
Poland and co-host Ukraine have been struggling to complete stadiums and upgrade airports, train stations and other infrastructure in preparation for Euro 2012.
The PAP news agency said Platini congratulated Gdansk Mayor Pawel Adamowicz on the progress on Tuesday at the start of a three-day trip to Poland.
PAP quoted Platini as saying that he is ''very satisfied with what I have been able to see so far.''
