Malaga coach Manuel Pellegrini has signed a two-year contract extension, tying him to the big-spending Andalusian club until June 2015.

Chilean Pellegrini, the former Real Madrid and Villarreal coach, took charge of Malaga last November following the dismissal of Jesualdo Ferreira and helped the club finish in 11th spot, three points above the relegation zone.

Malaga, which has brought in a host of new players this summer including Ruud van Nistelrooy, Joaquin Sanchez and Jeremy Toulalan, has also extended the contracts of two members of Pellegrini`s coaching staff, Ruben Cousillas and Jose Cabello, until 2015.
