Hundreds of Panionios fans have gathered outside the Greek parliament to protest against the decision by the football federation to exclude the club from the top flight next season because of financial reasons.

The protest took place on Monday, five days after the federation announced that Panionios, Iraklis and Panserraikos have been demoted.

The clubs are appealing the decision.

If Panionios and Iraklis lose their appeals they will be relegated to second division. Panserraikos has already been relegated and will drop to the third division.
