Honduras midfielder Wilson Palacios was carried off on a stretcher during a 3-0 World Cup warmup defeat by Romania on Saturday.

Honduras team doctor Raul Perez said Palacios was taken to an Austrian hospital for tests on the injury to his shin, but no further details were immediately available.

Honduras saw its winless streak stretched to five matches in its final World Cup warmup game.

Honduras hasn't won since beating the United States 3-1 in a friendly in January.

Goals by Marius Nicolae in the 20th and Gheorghe Florescu in the 45th minute gave Romania a 2-0 lead in the first half.

Mirel Radoi converted a penalty after 76 minutes to complete the scoring.

Honduras opens its World Cup campaign against Chile on June 16 and also plays Switzerland and Spain in Group H.

Romania failed to qualify for the tournament in South Africa.
