The Black Cats - who were forced into two defensive changes after first-half injuries to Titus Bramble and Phil Bardsley - had to settle for a point after the Toffees were awarded a controversial penalty, which Leighton Baines fired home. Replays clearly showed that Everton midfielder Leon Osman was not fouled, but O'Shea is preferring not to dwell on the spot-kick decision and is looking at the positives. "We limited Everton to very few chances," said O'Shea. "And when you see the penalty which went against us, it's very disappointing. "But you have to move on and I thought we dealt with conceding the goal quite well. While we didn't create too many clear-cut chances, if either team was going to score again it looked like it'd be us. "Injuries at the back are difficult to contend with, but we are experienced enough to know how to deal with it. "It takes a few minutes to get used to new positions, but once everyone's talking across the back four, we can cope. "To lose Titus and Bardo was difficult, but we managed to get through. We can take confidence from the result."
