O'Connor in dark over Blues future

O'Connor's current deal runs out in January after he signed a six-month contract in the summer following problems in both hips which sidelined him for most of last season. The Scotland international has forced his way back into the first team reckoning at City and impressed during Saturday's 2-0 home win over Blackpool. But his future still remains in the balance at St Andrew's ahead of Tuesday's Carling Cup clash with visiting Brentford. O'Connor said: "Nothing is being said at the moment about a new contract. "The gaffer has got faith in me. It is just about people upstairs at the club. "I would love to stay at Birmingham. It's a fantastic club and I've enjoyed my time here and hope it can continue. "I've got to keep my head down and keep working hard. "But, if it doesn't happen for me here, I can move on being happy with my form at the moment." O'Connor started City's opening league game of the current campaign at Sunderland. But he was then loaned out to Barnsley for a month to gain match sharpness after his lengthy lay-off.
