Holden was taken to hospital after a tackle from Jonny Evans, who was sent off, left him with a nasty gash on his right leg which required 26 stitches. X-rays confirmed Holden had avoided a break, but the club and the player are awaiting the result of an MRI scan to discover if he has ligament damage. Writing on Twitter on Sunday night, he said: "Not good news tweeps, speak tomorrow :(." Wanderers' next game is at Birmingham on 2 April with the FA Cup semi-final against Stoke coming two weeks later.
