Newcastle strolled to the Championship title last term but they are among the favourites to slip straight back into the second tier. The exploits of Wolves and Birmingham last season will have given them hope, but former club favourites such as Malcolm Macdonald have tipp ed Chris Hughton's side for a difficult season. Nolan, though, is adamant today's Magpies side can hold its own among England's elite. "I'm sick of hearing ex-pros saying we're not good enough," he said. "They were a bunch of nobodies when they first went up and they made names for themselves. "We had to prove a lot of people wrong in the Championship and we will have to prove them wrong again in the Premier League."
