No City talks for Rubin's Ansaldi
Rubin Kazan's Argentine defender Cristian Ansaldi says he knows
nothing of speculation linking him with a move to Manchester City.
Reports claimed the 23-year-old was set for a £6million
move to Eastlands.
City boss Roberto Mancini then insisted he was not looking
for a new left-back and Ansaldi now insists he has heard nothing
from the club.
"I read about it in the newspapers," he told Sport Express.
"But nobody has called me about it - not my agent, nor anyone else.
And there has been no conversation about it with the Rubin's
officials."
Rumours Ansaldi might be on the move have increased,
particularly since Russian Premier League Champions Rubin sold
fellow Argentine Alejandro Dominguez to Valencia last week. But
though sad to see his compatriot leave, Ansaldi remains
philosophical.
"That's life in sport," he said. "Players always, and always
will, come and go." And for now he appears to be content to remain
in Russia.
"I'm beginning my third season already in Kazan, and that's
great," he said. "Every year I feel better and better in Russia.
I'm very comfortable here."
