The 24-year-old, who has one senior cap for Holland, played for Spanish side Hercules last season but their relegation from the Primera Division activated a release clause in his contract. The former Vitesse Arnhem number one had been linked with Groningen, where regular number one Luciano failed to convince last season. But Nijland told Voetbal International: "We have two senior goalkeepers for the first team (Luciano and his deputy Brian van Loo), and we have every confidence in them."
