LONDON (AP) Newcastle midfielder Dan Gosling has admitted to a Football Association misconduct charge related to multiple breaches of betting rules.
The FA says Gosling has requested a personal hearing and a date had not been set.
No details of the case have been revealed publicly. Players are prohibited from betting on matches in competitions they are involved in or have any influence over.
The 24-year-old is back at St James' Park following a spell on loan at Sky Bet Championship side Blackpool earlier in the season.
Devon-born Gosling began his career at Plymouth before attracting the attention of Everton, who signed him for £2m in January 2008.
He played 37 games for the Merseysiders to secure a permanent place in David Moyes' side before joining Newcastle on a free transfer in July 2010.
