John Heitinga and Rafael van der Vaart scored a goal each Wednesday to help the Netherlands beat Macedonia 2-1 in a World Cup qualifying match.

Heitinga headed in a deflected cross from Arjen Robben early in the second half of the Group 9 game at Gradski Stadium.
