Moyes supports Rodwell call
A club versus country debate has erupted ahead of the tournament in Denmark, with some managers voicing concerns over burn-out. Moyes agrees that it may be difficult for those that play a major role this summer if they are then expected to go through an entire Premier League campaign next season without a break. But the Everton boss sees more positives than negatives and has given his blessing for Rodwell, named in a provisional 40-man squad by Stuart Pearce, to go to the tournament. Moyes believes taking part in such an event can only be good for the midfielder's development, particularly after a season when his progress has been hampered by injuries. "Jack has had a few injuries which have disrupted things but he is coming along fine," Moyes said in the Daily Mail. "It's a good tournament for him to be involved in and I'm happy for him to be playing. I've got no problems with it. "The problems may come next year for the lads who play the full month. "It will be like it is for the England senior boys, who went to the World Cup last summer. "There will be an effect but hopefully it will help his development."
