Manager Craig Levein was heavily criticised for a negative 4-6-0 approach in the 1-0 defeat to Czech Republic last Friday. Having also been held to a goalless draw in Lithuania and struggled to overcome minnows Liechtenstein, expectations were not high going into the clash with Spain. However, Scotland gave the World Cup winners a fright before eventually losing 3-2, and Morrison was encouraged by the performance. The Albion midfielder feels the game showed that Scotland can compete with the best sides when they adopt a positive mindset. "If you look at our squad, we have guys playing in the English Premier League and in the Champions League," he told the Daily Record. "We've got good players, so let's go and express ourselves. I think you have to go out and give everyone a game, really. "It is hard when you are away from home because you cannot just go chasing the ball and attempting to open teams up. "You get done if you do that and you need to be solid and start from there. "But we have set the bar on our performance against Spain and if we knock it about teams and use our energy, we have some good players in our side. "If we keep that second-half performance in our minds and move it on, we'll be all right." Scotland do not resume their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign until next September, when Czech Republic visit Hampden. Morrison is confident of exacting revenge, saying: "There is nothing to fear from the Czechs. "We played them at their place and looking at their performance, they didn't have anything like we have. "We want to get them at our place and have go at them to see how they cope with the pressure and the Hampden crowd because our fans were fantastic against Spain."
