Moore facing four months out

AFC Wimbledon midfielder Sammy Moore has been ruled out for up to four months with a fractured bone in his leg.

Moore was substituted against Fleetwood on Saturday and a subsequent scan has shown that he has a small fracture at the top of his shin (tibia) bone.

Despite the extent of the injury the club had feared worse, with the potential for cruciate ligament or cartilage damage. An initial X-ray was inconclusive so Moore was sent for MRI and CAT scans which confirmed the fracture.

Dons physio Mike Rayner said: "The fracture is not displaced at the moment and the first four weeks are therefore vital in the recovery process. We are looking at between three and four months for this kind of injury."
