Mooney commits to Orient
Young Aberdeen midfielder Ryan Jack has signed a new three-year contract at Pittodrie.
The 21-year-old is delighted to continue his stay on the north-east coast having already made 93 appearances for the Dons.
He told the club's website: "When they indicated they were keen for me to commit to a new deal it really was an easy decision for me to put pen to paper."
Jack joined Aberdeen in 2010 and manager Derek McInnes added: "I'm thrilled another player has committed his future to the club for three years.
"I'm really looking forward to playing a part in Ryan's development.
"This is a strong statement from the club as we look to rebuild the squad and Ryan will be a very important player within that."
Manager Russell Slade was desperate to keep the 28-year-old Irishman at Brisbane Road after he scored 13 goals for the O's last season.
Slade told the club website: "Mooney enjoyed his best season with us last year and scored some really important goals. If he hadn't got injured towards the end of the year I'm sure he would have scored a few more too.
"It's great to get him tied down with a new contract as, for the way we play, he fits perfectly into the make-up of the team."
Mooney joined the O's from Reading in 2011 and has scored 21 goals in 84 appearances in all competitions.
