Montenegro beats Northern Ireland 2-0 in friendly
Radomir Djalovic scored twice to give Montenegro a 2-0 victory against Northern Ireland in a friendly on Wednesday ahead of 2012 European Championship qualifying.
Djalovic scored the opener with a close-range shot in the 42nd minute, taking advantage of confusion in the opponents' defense caused by Mirko Vucinic's vicious strike.
The second goal resulted from a 59th-minute counterattack, Elsad Zverotic passing the ball to Djalovic, who coolly sidefooted home.
Both teams were more attacking in the second half.
Kyle Lafferty shot narrowly wide in the 46th minute, and went close again 10 minutes later from just inside the box.
Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic missed the chance for 3-0 in 80th minute from substitute Andrija Delibasic's pass through the disorganized Northern Ireland defense.
An 18-meter free kick from Northern Ireland's Grant McCann in the 87th was saved by the Montenegro goalkeeper.
Montenegr0 coach Zlatko Kranjcar said he was ''very satisfied'' with his team's play.
