MLS Rumors: Chilean Forward Felipe Flores Signs a Two-Year Deal With FC Dallas
29-year old Chilean forward, Felipe Flores, is reportedly set to join FC Dallas on a two-year deal. He last played for Tijuana in Liga MX.
According to journalist, Emmanuel Quispe, “FELIPE FLORES (29) set to join #FCDallas. Former #Xolos and #ColoColo signs with #FCD for two years”. The news has come shortly after the team recently signed fellow forward, Carlos Ruiz. FC Dallas are one of the best teams in Major League Soccer this season and they continue to add talented players to their roster.
Flores most recently played for Club Tijuana in Mexico where he was rarely used and only played in six games. He scored one goal since joining in 2015 but will now be joining his 12th different team in his career with Dallas. He has spent the majority of his career playing in both Chile and Mexico.
According to Wikipedia, the 29-year old forward has scored 87 career club goals and one goal in only two appearances for the Chilean National Team. Flores has previously played for Colo-Colo, Salamanca, La Piedad, Deportes Antofagasta, Dorados, Santiago Morning, and Cobreloa. His experience could be a valued addition to FC Dallas.

MLS rosters became frozen for the 2016 season as of September 15th. This means that we will not see Flores play until next season. Even though his will not have an impact this year, Felipe could still be a great addition going forward.
FC Dallas have already clinched their playoff spot and were the first team to do so this season. They currently lead MLS in points with 52 and are looking to capture the Supporters’ Shield after already hoisting the U.S. Open Cup this year.
With the Frisco based club set to compete in CONCACAF Champions League play next year, strengthening their squad with a player like Flores is a smart move. According to the report from Emmanuel Quispe, Floes will receive $35,000 per month. Bigdsoccer.com also speculated “In some ways that is a Designated Player but it could be a guy that FCD uses Targeted Allocation Money on for next season.”

It will be interesting to see when this move will be officially announced by the club. While FC Dallas are already highest scoring teams in MLS, it never hurts to add a goalscorer to the roster. Felipe Flores should be a welcomed addition to Major League Soccer next season.
