AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi has admitted that Newcastle United's Davide Santon is on his radar.

The Italian full-back started his career with Milanese rivals Inter and has been mentioned by Berlusconi as one of a number of players he could see in a new, younger AC side.

Roma striker Mattia Destro was another to be name-checked by Berlusconi, who says he wants to make his club a force at home and abroad once again.

"We will build a team with young players who can help AC Milan to be a leader in Italy and in Europe," Berlusconi said to Mediaset Sport.

"Davide Santon and Destro? I gave my world to (Milan vice-president) Adriano Galliani I wouldn't reveal any names, but these are players we like."

Berlusconi also sent out mixed messages over Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri, whose side are currently seventh in Serie A.

"Allegri? I have a great relationship with Allegri, a relationship of friendship and cordiality," Berlsuconi added. "He can leave? Much depends on the results that he will obtain."
