Midfielder Riccardo Montolivo could miss AC Milan's final four Serie A matches after tearing a muscle in his right leg, an injury that could affect the Rossoneri's attempt to hold off Fiorentina for third place and the final Champions League spot.
Montolivo was injured in training on Thursday. Milan says Montolivo will be evaluated in the coming days.
Milan lies third, one point ahead of Fiorentina, the club Montolivo transferred from after last season.
The top two finishers in Serie A qualify directly for the Champions League while the third-place finisher qualifies for the final playoff round. Fourth and fifth place earn Europa League berths.
Montolivo is also a starter for Italy, which will travel to Brazil next month for the Confederations Cup.
