Michu snub surprises Laudrup
Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has reacted with surprise to the news that Michu failed to make the PFA's Player of the Year shortlist.
Michu has scored 21 goals in all competitions and led Swansea to their first major trophy in his debut season.
Laudrup said: "Every player wants his player to be nominated.
"To score more than 20 goals in a mid-table team in his first season is fantastic.
"He has done enough to be up there."
Swansea will not be the only Welsh side playing football in English football's top division next season. Cardiff secured their place in the Premier League last week with a home draw against Charlton Athletic and Laudrup says it is a great time for Welsh football.
Laudrup added: "I think Welsh football should be proud. The two cities can look forward to two special games.
"When you reach a target, and it doesn't have to be a cup like we won, suddenly there's a reaction."
