Mellon slams Marrow red card

Fleetwood manager Micky Mellon was furious with referee Mark Brown for sending off Alex Marrow in the 0-0 draw with Rochdale.

Town goalkeeper Scott Davies saved a second-half penalty from Ashley Grimes and the visitors completed the last 25 minutes with 10 men following a coming together between Marrow and Andrew Tutte that earned the Crystal Palace loanee a second yellow card.

"It wasn't him (Marrow) that has tackled him," said Mellon.

"It was Curtis Obeng and he's trying to tell the referee but he can't get his card out quick enough, like a pop-up toaster, instead of taking a deep breath and just assessing the situation."

"If you are going to book people for a coming together like that, we are going to end up playing four-a-side.

"It was a frustrating day for us and not made any easier by some crazy decisions."
