Darren Mattocks scored twice to lead the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 3-1 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Sunday night.
Jordan Harvey added a late goal as Vancouver won the opener of a three-game homestand. Joe Cannon made three saves.
Substitute Macoumba Kandji scored for Houston.
Mattocks, the second overall pick in this year's MLS Superdraft, put the Whitecaps in front 2-0 in the 66th minute. The Jamaican forward took a feed from Gershon Koffie and fired a right-footed shot past Tally Hall.
