Javier Mascherano claims Argentina will fear nobody at this summer's World Cup despite their recent troubles.

Diego Maradona's side scraped through qualifying, with their passage to South Africa far from convincing.

They are, however, always a dangerous proposition and will be given the utmost respect by their rivals.

England coach Fabio Capello has already admitted that he expects the South Americans to be a force to be reckoned with, and that is a view shared by many football aficionados.

Mascherano feels Argentina are deserving of a standing among the World Cup favourites and insists they are in confident mood heading into the tournament.

"Diego Maradona and our team are ready," said the Liverpool midfielder.

"If we face England I'll know many secrets from the Premier League as to how to beat them. It will give us a big advantage.

"Argentina don't have any fears about any rivals. In the World Cup, we are always stronger and are ready to be competitive for the big occasion."
