Martinez quiet on Campbell rumours

The Latics are one of a number of clubs being credited with an interest in the former Arsenal and Portsmouth man. Campbell is free to find himself a new club when the transfer window reopens next month after finally securing his release from Notts County earlier in December. Martinez admits he is looking to bring in new faces in January, but he refused to reveal whether or not Campbell is on his wanted list. "Well I am sure you cannot buy the sort of experience you can get through playing many years in the Premiership so that is going to be a big asset for any football club," Martinez told Sky Sports News. "From our point of view I will always talk about the players we have got in the squad and I am not going to hide from the situation that we want to improve our football club, improve our playing staff and you can only do that in the [transfer] windows. "And we are going to do exactly what we do in every window - try to follow as many players as we can and make sure we get the right ones."
