Martin nears Blackpool debut
The 22-year-old signed for the Seasiders in the summer after a successful trial but was soon ruled out with a knee injury. Although the midfielder returned to his native France for the first three months of his recovery, he is back on the Fylde coast to re-acquaint himself with his new team-mates. And the former Monaco trainee is expected to be back in contention in January. "My knee is good," he told the club's official website. "I'm back for the last four weeks of my recovery and for 10 days now I will just run and push off the knee, but it's good to be back." Martin admits it has been tough to watch the Tangerines upset the odds and make a positive start to life in the Premier League knowing he could not experience it. But the ex-France Under-21 international has remained in touch with boss Ian Holloway while he has been sidelined, which helped keep him in high spirits while he was back in Monaco. "It's difficult because the team have had some good results and it's not been possible to play," he said. "I've spoken to the manager. I often have a message from him after a game if there's been a good result and that's good to hear."
