Marseille eye N'Zogbia swoop
The former Newcastle United player almost joined Birmingham for £9million in the summer but French champions Marseille are longer-term admirers of the 24-year-old. A move home would boost N'Zogbia's chances of a full France international cap but Sunderland, whose boss Steve Bruce brought the left-sided midfielder to Wigan, could yet gazump any deal. Any potential buyer would have to pay Athletic a big fee as N'Zogbia is under contract at Wigan for the next 18 months. Meanwhile, Wigan manager Roberto Martinez has turned his attention to the next few games and said: "The remainder of December and the whole of January will be very important. "We have been stronger this season and we have been consistent in the first half of the season. We have played well but we've not always got the rewards we have deserved."
