Diego Maradona expects Jose Mourinho to end Real Madrid's recent Champions League drought.

Maradona accompanied Mourinho in Madrid training on Friday, and says he is ''convinced'' the Portuguese coach will end the club's poor run in Europe's top competition, which it hasn't won since 2002.

Maradona, who was fired as Argentina coach after a disappointing World Cup campaign, says Mourinho's ''methods are sensational'' and he has created ''great camaraderie among the players.''

Mourinho is vying to be the first coach to win the competition with three different clubs after titles with Inter Milan and FC Porto.

Maradona even displayed a shirt signed by Mourinho, who wrote: ''I am embarrassed to sign a jersey for Sir Diego!''
