Mancini expects Robinho to leave Manchester City
Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini is preparing to offload Robinho before the end of the transfer window, with the Brazil forward hoping for a move to Italy or Spain.
Mancini said Wednesday he would be happy if Robinho ended up staying at City but envisages the player leaving over the next few days.
"Robinho has two or three options. When he chooses, we will then know where he wants to go," Mancini said. "I have spoken with Robinho and he can stay if he works well and trains well. But I think he wants to play in Italy or Spain."
Robinho, who was sent on loan to Brazilian side Santos last season, recently received an offer from Fenerbahce but said he did not want to play in Turkey at this stage in his career.
Paraguay striker Roque Santa Cruz could also be allowed to leave by Mancini as the Italian manager looks to finalize his attacking lineup for the season.
"Roque is a fantastic guy and a fantastic player. It is possible he will leave for Lazio or another team," Mancini said.
Both Robinho and Santa Cruz could struggle for first-team opportunities this season at City, which spent heavily in the transfer market. They have until next Tuesday to find new clubs before the transfer window closes.
