Police say Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Claude Makelele and his former girlfriend have filed a legal complaint against each other after they exchanged punches and slaps in a fight at his house.
Police said Thursday that the altercation took place after a 35-year-old British woman broke into the player's house in the posh Paris suburb of La Celle-Saint-Cloud on Wednesday night.
Police say doctors have ordered her to stay home from work for two days after the fight.
Makelele is a former France international, playing 71 internationals as a defensive midfielder.
