Blackpool manager Paul Ince has expressed his delight after Gary MacKenzie returned to training on Wednesday.

The big centre-back was involved in a clash of heads during the 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest and was forced off after complaining of double vision.

However, he has been monitored since and was given the green light to return, much to the delight of Ince.

"Gary felt like he was knocked out. He said he woke up on the pitch and felt like he was in some sort of bubble," Ince told the Blackpool Gazette. "He said he didn't know what was going on.

"He's been massive for us, so it was a shame to lose him on Saturday, but Craig Cathcart came in and did very well."

Ince awarded his players a day off for their efforts against Forest and was quick to praise their attitude as they returned to training ahead of a home double header.

He added: "The lads are immense. What they keep giving me and have in such a short space of time is a credit to them.

"The attitude, their resilience and their never-say-die attitude is brilliant. I'm proud of them."
