Shane Long knows West Brom can beat Newcastle if they play as they did against Manchester City, but admits Saturday's defeat was hard to take.
The Baggies looked set to continue their fine start to the season at home to City when Long broke the deadlock midway through the second half, James Milner having been sent off for the Premier League champions.
A late Edin Dzeko brace turned the game on its head and left Long stunned, although the Irishman thinks a repeat performance in their next game should ensure victory.
"There is a bit of disbelief at losing because we really took the game to them," he said in the Daily Mirror.
"The boss has instilled real confidence in us to play against the best teams.
"We passed it out from the goalkeeper with every chance we got and caused them all sorts of problems and they are probably one of the best teams in Europe.
"It's very frustrating for us but we will take a lot of positives and we can probably go on to Newcastle and, if we do the same things, win the game."
