CHESTER, Pennsylvania (AP) French forward Sebastien Le Toux scored one goal and set up another to lead the Philadelphia Union to a 3-0 victory over the Columbus Crew in Major League Soccer on Wednesday.
Cristian Maidana passed to Le Toux just outside the yard box. Rather than take the shot, Le Toux crossed to C.J. Sapong, who scored his third goal of the season on an easy tap-in past goalkeeper Steve Clark in the 41st minute.
In the second half, Clark slipped while trying to roll the ball outside the box. Instead, he kicked it right to the Union's Vincent Nogueira, who chipped it in a wide-open net in the 52nd minute. Le Toux scored his second goal of the season in the 58th minute on an assist by Sheanon Williams.
The Union ended a four-game losing streak against the Crew, and bounced back after having their two-game winning string broken against D.C. United on Saturday.
In Washington, Jairo Arrieta scored two goals as D.C. United downed the Chicago Fire 3-1.
David Accam scored in the 28th minute to give the Fire a 1-0 halftime lead and Arrieta scored from a header in the 61st.
United took the lead for good when Arrieta passed the ball to Nick DeLeon, who passed it right back to Arrieta. He scored past diving goalkeeper Jon Busch in the 68th minute.
Conor Doyle made it 3-1 in the 75th minute, his first goal since August 2013.
Montreal's Ignacio Piatti scored in the 83rd minute to give the Impact a 2-1 victory over the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Jack McInerney scored in the first half for the Impact, who have won three of their last four matches.
Pedro Morales scored for Vancouver from the penalty spot four minutes before Piatti got the winner.
With time winding down Andres Romero spotted Piatti's run in the box and the Argentine made no mistake with a strike into the corner of the net.
