Lazio midfielder Francelino Matuzalem has been banned for three matches by the Italian league for hitting an opponent in the face.
The incident with Cesena midfielder Luis Antonio Jimenez occurred during the second half of Lazio's 1-0 win Saturday, with no sanction applied during the match.
Matuzalem will miss a key match against third-place Napoli, as well as games against Parma and Catania.
