Latics complete Bessone deal
Oldham have completed the signing of former Leeds and Charlton left-back Federico Bessone.
Bessone, a free agent since leaving Swindon in December, has agreed a short-term deal at Boundary Park until the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has been training with Barcelona outfit Espanyol to keep in shape and Latics boss Lee Johnson moved quickly to bring in cover for Jonathan Grounds, who is two yellow cards away from a two-match ban.
"I spoke to my agent (on Wednesday) and he told me I had the chance to go and help Oldham," Bessone told Oldham's official website.
"I had been waiting for the call for a few months and it finally came the day before the transfer deadline."
Bessone is unavailable for Saturday's trip to Swindon and he is disappointed to be denied a return to the County Ground.
"They were my last club and things didn't go how I wanted and I decided to leave in December," he added.
