Rangers kept their seven-point lead in the SPL table intact after Lee McCulloch's late goal earned a 1-1 draw with Celtic at Parkhead.

The Bhoys totally bossed proceedings in Sunday's early game, but Marc-Antoine Fortune had a goal controversially chalked off on 19 minutes by referee Steve Conroy, who deemed the striker had fouled Gers goalkeeper Allan McGregor when challenging for a high ball in the 18-yard box.

Georgios Samaras wasted a hatful of chances for Tony Mowbray's hosts, while Barry Robson and Aiden McGeady were also wasteful in front of goal as the Old Firm battle headed towards a goalless draw with 10 minutes left.

The game exploded into life on 79, though, when Scott McDonald headed in a right-wing cross from McGeady to put the second-placed Bhoys 1-0 up.

The lead did not last long, however, with Walter Smith's table-toppers equalising just two minutes later when McCulloch got in front of Gary Caldwell to head home Steven Davis' corner at the near post

Moments later, as Celtic pressed again, McGregor produced a world-class save from Samaras, tipping the Greek striker's goalbound shot over the bar, to ensure his team lead their arch-rivals by seven points, with the Hoops having a game in hand.
