Lanus back on top in Argentina

Lanus went back to the top of the Clausura table with a 2-1 win over Arsenal Sarandi.

The hosts were 2-0 up by half-time thanks to strikes from Ismael Blanco (27) and Silvio Romero (41).

Arsenal, who could have leapfrogged their opponents with a win, got on the board seven minutes from time through Milton Celiz but they could not find  an equalizer.

Quilmes lifted themselves into fourth with a 3-1 win at rock-bottom Argentinos Juniors.

Goals either side of half-time from Sebastian Romero (33) and Wilfredo Olivera (55) put the visitors in control, before Matias Martinez pulled one back in the 65th minute.

Jacobo Mansilla struck in the 77th minute to re-establish the two-goal cushion and leave Argentinos without a win in their five Clausura games.
