Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield has lost his appeal against his red card against Kilmarnock and will miss Saturday's visit of St Johnstone.

The Dons number one was sent-off during the 2-0 SPL defeat on Saturday for bringing down Borja Perez in the box.

The Pittodrie side lodged an appeal against the dismissal but the Scottish Football Association's fast track tribunal on Thursday backed the decision of referee Craig Charleston.

A statement on the club's website read: "The club have unfortunately been informed that Jamie Langfield's appeal has been dismissed.

"The one-match immediate suspension will stand for the offence reported of denying the opposing team or an opponent a goal or an obvious goal scoring opportunity."
