The Canaries boss has already added strikers James Vaughan and Steve Morison to a squad which secured back-to-back promotions after finishing runners-up in the Championship. Bookmakers may have the Norfolk club at odds-on to be relegated, but Lambert will leave no stone unturned as he looks to get the right players at the right price ahead of the start of the new top-flight campaign. "We have not got a foothold in this league at all, we are a new team coming up really quickly so I have to box clever," Lambert told BBC Radio Norfolk. Lambert has targeted up to seven new additions, with Brighton winger Elliott Bennett and Leeds midfielder Bradley Johnson said to be next on his wanted list. The Norwich board have promised all of the initial £37million of television income will go towards improving the squad, which Lambert accepts is likely to be an on-going process over the season. "I also know that come January time I will have to maybe strengthen again," he said. "The club have been great, the board have been great. "They know the current group need a hand, but we will never go out and do what Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal or Manchester United can do." The arrivals of Vaughan and Morison will certainly add competition to the squad, with Lambert warning none of the players who helped take the club back into the Premier League for the first time since 2005 could be guaranteed a place in the starting XI next season. Wales international Morison, 27, admits his meteoric rise from non-league to the Premier League, having played for Stevenage just two years ago, keeps everything in perspective. "It's been something that does always come up, but it is something that keeps me in good stead and helps keep me grounded," Morison told Canaries Player. "It does make you be a bit more humble and it reminds you of just how far you've come in a short space of time. "Obviously it is a massive step now going into the Premier League and it's something I'm really looking forward to." Lambert will again take the squad out to Germany for a training camp before pre-season fixtures against Crystal Palace, Southend and Coventry City ahead of the visit of Real Zaragoza on August 3.
