Costa Rica coach Ricardo La Volve has called up nine foreign-based players for next week's friendly against Venezuela.

The only player to receive his first call-up on Friday was goalkeeper Keylor Navas of Spanish club Albacete.

The team is expected to begin training on Monday in Venezuela to prepare for the Wedesday match. La Volpe did not call up a single player from Costa Rican championship club Alajuelense. The nine national players called up represent eight local clubs.
