Kompany: City ready for Arsenal
City's unbeaten run came to an end at Stamford Bridge as fellow high-flyers Chelsea secured a 2-1 victory. That result means Roberto Mancini's star-studded side are now just two points clear of local rivals Manchester United at the top of the table. But Kompany insists the setback has not dampened their desire as they prepare to host the Gunners on Sunday. He told Sky Sports News: "Everybody is already fired up for Arsenal and that's what we want now, to play football again on Sunday. "That's the main thing for us - everybody is ready for the next game." A number of City's players attended the club's Christmas party in London on Monday just hours after the Stamford Bridge disappointment. Defender Kompany believes the festive bash was just the tonic the title-chasers needed to pick them up after the demoralising defeat. "I'm only going to say one thing about it - you don't show how good or strong a team you are in the good moments when you win all the games," he added. "After a defeat it's important you show that you're still a team and you're ready for the next game."
