Kean to cool Diouf negativity

The Senegalese schemer turns 30 on Saturday when Rovers head to Stamford Bridge to take on champions Chelsea. But few will be celebrating the forward's birthday, not least QPR's Neil Warnock, who was embroiled in a war of words with Diouf following his quarrel with broken leg victim Jamie Mackie in last weekend's FA Cup clash. Kean insists the former Liverpool and Bolton performer is not as bad as he is portrayed in the media, but concedes Diouf must temper his need for controversy. "He seems a nasty character, but when you actually have him in your training ground and work with him, he is not." Kean said in The Telegraph. "He has a bubbly personality and is always happy, but when he goes on the pitch, he enjoys people booing him. "I don't know why, I can't get it into my head, but it excites him and the ideal scenario for him is to come off the pitch just before the end so he can hold his hands out and wave to the away fans. "But we hope he can put into a box the nasty part that infuriates people and let his football do the talking. "It is the thing that gives him a buzz, but it brings baggage, it is hard for us to deal with and we will be trying to minimise it without taking away from his ability."
