Kean rushes to Hanley defence
Under-fire referee Mark Clattenburg deemed that the 19-year-old centre-half had pulled back Fulham's Aaron Hughes from a last-minute corner on Saturday. It seemed a harsh decision but Bobby Zamora rubbed salt into the wounds by converting the spot-kick to give Fulham a 3-2 victory at Craven Cottage. That condemned Rovers to a fourth defeat from their last five league games, leaving them one point above the drop zone. But Kean was quick to defend Hanley, who was making just his sixth Premier League start. "He has played well, he is a good player and he is getting better week-in and week-out," the Rovers boss told the Lancashire Telegraph. "To play against these type of strikers, he has dealt with it well. "He has a bright future and it is a tough one for Grant. "But we have to respect if the referee thinks he has got him in an aggressive manner."
