Arsenal midfielder Abou Diaby is making promising progress in his rehabilitation from his latest injury setback.
The France international suffered knee ligament damage in March and is expected to be sidelined until Christmas.
Diaby has been a regular in the treatment room throughout his time at Emirates Stadium, preventing him from taking in prolonged spells in the Gunners first team.
He hopes to be able to put those troubles behind him as he closes on another comeback, with Arsene Wenger having putting considerable faith in the 27-year-old.
Diaby is currently working his way back to full fitness at the French national training centre in Clairefontaine and is expecting to step up his recovery over the coming weeks.
He told L'Equipe: "I have come off the crutches. Now I have to start walking again!
"I will start running again in a few weeks.
"I want to take my time with everything to ensure that it all goes smoothly."
The 24-year-old endured a disappointing campaign since joining United from Borussia Dortmund last summer but an improvement in form since the turn of the year has given renewed hope to the midfielder.
Confidence is an area Kagawa wants to work on if he is to be as good as his illustrious team-mates, and the Japan international hopes to build on this at the Confederations Cup starting this Saturday.
"I wasn't satisfied with my overall performance but I played well in the second half of the season and started to get more and more confidence," he told Sports Illustrated.
"Hopefully, I can keep that going at the Confederations Cup.
"In this business, you need to be like Rooney or van Persie and prove yourself if you want the ball.
"I want to be a player like them, which means I need results."
