Jordanian striker Oday al-Saify, who scored the winning goal against Syria, will miss the rest of the Asian Cup due to a hamstring injury.

The 24-year-old Al-Saify, who plays for Cypriot side Alki, powered Jordan through to the quarterfinals Monday where it faces Uzbekistan. But as the team celebrated the win, he could be seen visibly limping on the sidelines.

Jordan team manager Osama Talal told the Asian Cup website that al-Saify will need ''four weeks'' to recover.

The loss of al-Saify is the latest headache for coach Adnan Hamad, who already is without injured defenders Hatem Aqel and Anas Bani Yaseen and will be without suspended defender Basem Fathi for the Uzbekistan match after he picked up two yellow cards.
