Jordan: Top four is our target
Manager Harry Redknapp on Monday night insisted Spurs can win the title this season if they maintain their excellent recent form. "The title is a possibility. It's not impossible," Redknapp said after the 2-0 defeat of Aston Villa at White Hart Lane - a victory which means they have dropped just two points in nine games. However, Jordan explained on Tuesday morning: "He was looking at the importance of the way the team has progressed. "For us to be in the top bracket is something we'd have liked at the start of the season, but look at the manner in which Manchester City and Manchester United have started. We had a poor start, it wasn't balanced. "Since then we've found consistency but there's a long, long way to go. If we could get in the top four I think that would be a great season." Redknapp is the bookmakers' favourite to replace Fabio Capello as England manager - and Scot Jordan believes the 64-year-old's recent track record means he should be among those considered. He added on BBC Radio Five Live: "It would be nice for the nation to have English candidates for the job. "Fabio Capello is a top manager but I would like to think a nation like England would have a number of people who could be looked upon for the job. "You've got to look at people who are having good time in their career - and it's all about timing as well."
