Johnson: I'm back to my best
He has cut a frustrated figure in recent seasons after failing to reproduce his impressive 12-goal haul for Everton in 2006/07. Johnson has been back among the goals this term with nine already this term, including a hat-trick in a 6-0 win over QPR. The 30-year-old is still good friends with a number of Everton players and says it would be 'extra-special' to score against his former club. "I feel good, back to my sharpest and everything I'm hitting is going in," said Johnson. "I feel as good as I did in my first season at Goodison. "I'm over the knee injury now, the hard work has paid off and it would be extra-special to score against Everton. "I still talk to some of the guys there - Phil Neville, Tony Hibbert, Leon Osman. We haven't had any banter yet but I'm sure the texts will start flying. "It's going to be a tough league this year but we're doing okay. We need to pick up three points against Everton."
