Jarvis' loan to QPR collapses over issues with Zarate's possible return to West Ham
West Ham winger Matthew Jarvis' proposed loan move to QPR has collapsed due to Premier League rules, Press Association Sport understands.
Harry Redknapp was hoping to bring the 28-year-old winger to Loftus Road, having struck an agreement with the Hammers which would see Mauro Zarate's loan to the west London club brought to a premature end.
However, Press Association Sport understands Premier League rules mean Zarate cannot return in the same window in which he signed, meaning Jarvis will be unable to join QPR.
Top-flight clubs cannot have two players on loan from the same club, meaning both players will now have to stay where they are.
It is a frustrating turn of events for both clubs, with QPR keen to get the Argentinian off their books having been unimpressed by his fitness.
As for West Ham, they were hoping to recall Zarate to fill the void left by Carlton Cole's potential move to West Brom.
QPR asked the Premier League for dispensation to get the Jarvis and Zarate moves over the line.
Manager Redknapp told reporters that deal was looking "doubtful" before the club was told the deal would not be possible.
