Jaguares strikes late to hold Tigres
Jaguares extended its unbeaten run to eight games and held on to first place in Mexico's Apertura tournament with a 1-1 draw against Tigres.
Jaguares have 18 points, the same as Cruz Azul and Chivas, which drew 1-1 over the weekend. Jaguares lead on goals scored.
Tigres have 17 points along with defending champion Pumas, which defeated Estudiantes Tecos 2-1 on Saturday.
In a key match Sunday, Javier Yacuzzi scored after 15 seconds for Tijuana before America's Christian Benitez equalized in the 86th minute to finish 1-1.
In other games this weekend: Atlante beat Atlas 3-2, Queretaro won 2-1 against Monterrey, Puebla lost 2-1 to Santos, Toluca won 2-1 against Morelia and Pachuca drew 1-1 with San Luis.
Lucas Lobos scored in the 79th to give Tigres a 1-0 lead, but a defensive error with one minute left handed possession to Jaguares' Jorge Rodriguez, who bore down on goal and slotted the ball home.
Omar Arellano scored Chivas' goal in the first half after a swift counterattack, but Chivas left back Miguel Ponce was sent off in the 52nd after receiving two yellow cards. Colombia Edixon Perea equalized for Cruz Azul 10 minutes later.
Javier Cortes scored for Pumas before U.S. international Herculez Gomez headed an equalizer for Estudiantes in the 28th. Paco Palencia got the winner for Pumas with a deflected effort in the 62nd.
America's new coach Alfredo Tena saw his team concede straight from the kickoff after a defensive lapse, as Tijuana - also with a new coach - looked for its second win of the season. America has 10 points and Tijuana has just seven.
Last-place Atlas has only five points and again lost with Giancarlo Maldonado, Osvaldo Martinez and Francisco Fonseca getting the goals for Atlante, which has won its last four games and has 15 points.
Uruguayan Carlos Bueno scored his eighth goal of the season in Queretaro's home win over Monterrey, which had two players sent off in the second half.
Colombian Darwin Quintero and Oribe Peralta scored for Santos at Puebla, with Duvier Riascos converting a penalty for the home side in the 57th. Santos have 14 points but have played one game fewer than the teams above them.
Uruguayan Ivan Alonso scored a goal in each half for Toluca, with Luis Sandoval scoring in the 49th for Morelia.
Pachuca fell behind to a goal from San Luis' Michael Arroyo but
