Huth hits back at Potters critics
The Potters face Manchester City at Eastlands in Saturday evening's televised clash having dumped Arsenal out in the previous round. And although Stoke have a reputation for a pragmatic approach which last year saw them secure a second successive season in the top flight, Huth said there was more to them than that. But however they are perceived, the German defender said they were just focused on trying to win every match. "Every time you play you get judged as a player and a team," he said. "I don't think we have been playing like we just want to stay in the Premier League - yes it is a goal but we've been playing a lot better. "It gives you confidence beating a team like Arsenal but if we don't win against City it is not worth noticing. "Personally I don't care what people think. As long as we do all right and do a good job for the club we don't care. "It is the fifth round so there are a few rounds to go but we're not going to hold back. "But with the matches coming so quickly it is just another game." Manager Tony Pulis said Stoke have the players to hurt City, whose resources dwarf any transfer kitty he could ever dream of, and they are in good enough form to do so. Since the turn of the year the Potters are unbeaten in seven matches and that, Pulis believes, is as a result of both elements of the game coming together. "We are solid enough at the back but we now look like we can score goals," he said. "Looking at Tuncay, Ricardo Fuller and Matty Etherington, we have three special players there who can turn it on. "Mamady Sidibe has sneaked in under the radar and he doesn't get a lot of praise, which always goes to Tuncay and Etherington, but it is amazing that everything seems to have gelled since he came in. "We didn't do too badly against them in the league (losing 2-0 on Boxing Day). I just hope we go there and give it a right crack. "There is no doubt that it will take something special if we are to get a result on what promises to be a great occasion."
